Gestalt Visual Principles
A twelve-page course booklet that uses one repeated tree motif to demonstrate how visual grouping changes what a reader sees first.

Assignment
I made this small booklet for a design course to explain several Gestalt principles through visual examples. Rather than changing subjects on every page, I repeated a tree shape so differences in placement, scale, color, and outline carried the explanation.
Visual system
A limited green, black, and white palette keeps the pages connected. Pale trees act as a recurring ground; darker shapes establish the figure. Individual pages test common fate, closure, proximity, continuation, and simplified form. The examples move from dense grouping toward a single dominant shape.
Reflection
The repeated motif makes the principles easy to compare. If I developed this beyond a classroom study, I would refine the cover and typography, and increase the space between explanatory text and busy illustrations. Those changes would improve readability without losing the direct visual demonstrations.
